Whams and Windmills.

Not to be confused with the E-on development we have installed our third (one stolen and one blown up) wind turbine on the cabin at the whams. John Mosley did all the hard work and I occasionally held things and also took the pictures.
For those wishing to charge various batteries just clip onto the two new buzz bars in the cabin and away you should go.

Committee visits Whams

It’s a bit of a rare event when most of the committee turn up on one field at the same time.
The object of the exercise was to “survey” the proposed pit area at the south side of the field in the hope that when we have a long dry spell all those involved will know where we are going to put everything and we can make some preparation for the move.
The decision was made to set up the pit area and cabins parallel to the stream and to the south west of the bunker running along the bank and towards the proposed car park (if the planning application is successful). The advantages of this layout are enormous compared to the set up at the moment. Apart from flying with our backs to the sun when we reclaim the existing pit area for runway the width of the usable area of the field is increased by about 35 metres. It actually looks and feels more; ask Tim or John Mos who have both flown from the “wrong” side of the field just to check it out.
If we get the car park the other obvious benefit is models will only have to be carried about 20 metres into the pit area.
Hopefully we may get a new and better shelter at the same time as the move but that is slightly in doubt now.
I have included a plan showing approximately where things should go and it also shows the final position of turbine Nº2 should it get built.
DO NOT TRY AND SCALE OFF THIS DRAWING. After going through my computer twice it is no longer to scale but IT IS IN PROPORTION.
